At Natasha Harvey’s Art and Creativity Lessons students participate in drawing, painting, collage, sculpture and printmaking. We provide a nurturing environment that encourages experimentation and fun that includes play, movement, music and storytelling.

Natasha has a degree in Fine Arts and is a local exhibiting artist.
She has a degree in Education and holds a current B.C. teaching certificate.

An Approach to Children’s Art Experience

• The Process is most important. Discovery, exploration and experimentation, feelings of joy or frustration, and an appreciation of the mystery of artistic creation are more important than the finished product.
• The teacher must not hinder the children’s creativity by telling children how something should look.
• Artistic experiences empower children, and foster a sense of self. Each child can express his or her own vision.
• Art education aids a child’s intellectual development.
• A relaxed environment will encourage self-confidence. The lessons must be fun.
• Art gives children opportunities to make their own choices and decisions.
• The open-ended exploration of materials makes it easier for children to express themselves visually.
